Festival of Lights!!!

Long time since I wrote a blog, so thought of writing one. Then came the next question, on what topic? I did not think much on that, today is Diwali and my favourite festival. Immediately jumped into write on that.

Why diwali is celebrated? To not go deep into the history of diwali celebration, it is very simple. To celebrate the good winning over evil. Right from my childhood, I always love this day, and the following is just a routine of diwali celebrations for me. I go back to my childhood, where I will not sleep the day before, I would be counting the time for sun to rise. Once I see some sun light, I jump out of my bed, and it would be sound of the crackers all around. I would also love to burst, and there are some formalities to be done before that at my home. Need to take bath first, that too oil bath. While taking bath, I'll also apply Shikhai. My parents will warn me dont open your eyes till Shikhai is washed away, otherwise your eyes will start burning. So I'll tightly close my eyes. Then after taking the bath, wearing new dress. It is always a great feeling to wear new dress, we'll feel we look over smart and I used to stand in front of mirror atleast for some time.

Then after that, there would be sweets and other special food items would be ready. I'll go there to take it, then I will get the news - first we need to goto temple, and then only can have breakfast. But still I take some vadas and sweets. Then when everyone is ready, after praying at home - appa will show aradhana, then we'll crack few crackers, till the time before this, I would be waiting for the moment to burst crackers. But when the time comes, there would be few, no not few, many butterflies inside. I will try to burst and then run 100 m away to find I have not done the needful. Then again I'll go there to burst, but after 2 - 3 attempts, finally I'll succeed. Then we'll all goto temple. It would be great to see everyone wearing new dress, everyone wishing each other and seeing everyone very happy. I feel why cant this happen everyday???

Then after coming, it is breakfast feast. I would be completely full, but Amma will come and serve 2 more idly's, first will resist and then I'll have that as well. After that TV programmes, by this time, patti mandram will start, we all amma, appa, akka and anna sit together and watch it. Then there would be variety of programmes, and after heavy breakfast got over, now its time for heavy lunch.

In the evening where we can crack colorful crackers. I feel this is more beautiful than the power crackers. I spend most of the time in the evening by bursting that, and after having dinner - peacefully going to sleep after 1 full day's enjoyment.

From the next morning, I wake up and start waiting for the next diwali to come. It is indeed a great festival, that brings joy in everyone be it whatever sorrow we may be in.

Wow Sachin!!!

On 17th Oct, Sachin Tendulkar became the highest run getter in the history of Test match cricket. Undoubtedly he has made the country proud. What entertainment he has given for the past 19 years? I had played cricket in the streets with friends, and when there is any close match, and when I am in the middle, I feel a bit tensed during that time to win the match for the team I belong to. Consider this is just for fun match, for that itself the feeling is like that, how it would be playing in an international match? But still this man has carried the Indian hopes throughout his career and I would say justified it too. I feel very lucky to watch this player's cricket throughout his career.

The ovation he got yesterday, and the crackers that went off for 3-4 minutes - I dont remember it happened anywhere before. Truly deserving isnt it?

As a cricket fan in general, I thank you Sachin for giving such beautiful performances and hats off to you.

Terror Strikes - Stop it...

Previously I hear the word Strike in cricket commentary only - like Jumbo strikes, big strike for India like that. But recently I am frequently reading/ hearing this word alond with the most stupid word Terror. Terrorism is the most cruel thing, if one hates someone or for some monetary benefits, if the person is injuring the other one - even though this is also a truly criminal thing, there is atleast some crap reason attached to it. But terrorism - there is just no logic to it - through this, terrorists are killing innocent people who they might not even know.

There are so many ways to live, to make a living is not a tough part to do - lets make that by not hurting others and not chosing the wrong path. If you are not able to do good things, well and good, but dont do evil.

LIVE and LET LIVE.

Power of blogging!!!

I do a lot of thinking about lot of things when I am alone or while traveling. But every day with lot of thoughts coming in and out, I forget that with time. Though a diary can be used to note down this, sometimes since this is a physical thing it may be hard to carry around in this busy world. Blog gives a powerful option to record this with great simplicity. It also gives great joy when we read it after few days/ months/ years - it brings back old memories of our life.

Sachin's retirement???

The latest topic about Indian cricket is retirement of the fab 5. I was just wondering how this became such a hot topic? It speaks volumes about these cricketer's talent and record that for almost a decade, they were unseperated from the Indian Test team. If this is the case, then it means couple of things. Either they are doing amazingly good, or there is no one knocking the door hard to replace them. I feel both the above points are true. Whoever wants these cricketers to retire, can they suggest the players who can replace them? Test cricket is not fun. Yes agreed, younger players also have to be given chance so that they can be groomed. But definitely not all in one night. As far I could remember, I cant recollect a single series when these fab 5 collectively failed except for the recent Srilanka series. Is it because of that series, this hue and cry is happening now? Even the young talent failed miserably with Ajanta Mendis in the one day series. This happens in every era, great players struggled to handle initially against Warne, Murali and Kumble. And Ajanta Mendis is truely a different spin talent that world cricket has rarely seen. Because of one bad series, noone should forget their past performances they had produced for India. Lets give them time, and they still have it in them.

Now coming more specific to my title, I am truely surprised Sachin is also included in that list. I am not undermining the remaining by a bit, but still it is too childish to talk about a player who once carried whole of India's hope on his shoulder. He has never been inconsistent, there may be some lapse in form for couple of matches, but there is hardly any series he has under performed. People talk about his average is very poor in finals and second innings. Let me ask one question, who brought us to the finals then, who made us to be still in the match in the second innings then? It is not an individual game, and it is a team game, and one man cannot win matches for a team. It is so unfortunate that player like Sachin is not part of winning any world championship simply because cricket is a team game.

Let us not decide Sachin's retirement, let him call his day by his own, this is the last thing that we can give to this awesome player who deserves anything and everything.

Enjoy the first time :)

This is my first blog. I was just going through the blog tour present in blogspot.com site, and I was still wondering what a blog is. Then finally there was a phrase, the best way to know about blog is to go and try for it. What a good statement? Very true, isnt it?

The best way to know about anything is to go and do it. One which may look very tough and puzzling initially becomes nothing after experience. Everyone of us know this, we would have had our uneasy moment when we first went to school, we would have had a similar moment when giving a presentation in front of even our own classmates, when travelling alone for the first time, and for anything. But once we had crossed the first hurdle, next time it has become our own.

No fear, no worries, want to learn anything? want to try anything? GO and DO IT.
